OSF Over $500,000

Donations to the Opportunity Scholarship Fund topped a half million dollars yesterday. A donation of $4,000 by Mr. and Mrs. Randall Roberts of Bixby put the Fund over $500,000. Their generous gift was designated for The Little Lighthouse of Tulsa. The Fund has been receiving donations for less than a year. The first donation was made by Patti and Pete Rhea of Lawton in September 2014. Since that time 223 donors have contributed $503,000 for an average of $2,265 per donation.…

The Little Light House Is #41

The Little Light House (Jean Winfrey, Molly Smith and Rachel Mouton) in Tulsa, Oklahoma joined the OSF this week.  TLL is the 41st school to join the Opportunity Scholarship Fund. Gov. Fallin Signs HB 1693

Governor Fallin signed HB 1693 last week. It passed the House and Senate by large margins. HB 1693 was designed to improve the current legislation authorizing our OSF. The bill was carried  State Representative Kevin Calvey and State Senator Kyle Loveless. ENHANCED TAX CREDIT: The most universal improvement was the change of the benefits to multi-year donors. Now 40 OSF Schools

The Opportunity Scholarship Fund now has 40 member schools. Six additional schools sponsored by the Seventh-Day Adventist Conference joined OSF yesterday. Now all 8 schools of the Conference are members. The Conference supports Adventist schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Muskogee, Ardmore, Claremore, Vinita, Bristow - and a mission school in Guymon serving Burmese refugees. OSF Now At 34 Schools

Three schools have recently joined the OSF. They are Paths to Independence School (Bartlesville), Cross Christian Academy (Disney), and Eagle Point Christian School (Sapulpa). Paths to Independence is an accredited PK-12 private school structured to meet the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders.  It provides instruction in all academic areas, communication, social skills, recreation, and independent living.  The school goal is to have a life-long view of education, promoting functional independence from a young age. The mission of Eagle Point Christian Academy is to partner…

This two minute video spotlights five OSF scholarship recipients. They are: Josh Hopkins in the Wesleyan Christian School in Bartlesville; siblings Victoria, Madison and Nicolas Cubas of Newcastle, OK and the Christian Heritage Academy; and Manuel Chavarria from the Happy Hands Education Center in Broken Arrow.
