Florida’s Tax Credit Scholarships

The Florida program was launched in 2001. In the 2013-14 school year alone, the program awarded almost 60,000 scholarships at an average value of $4,663 each. The program is capped at $286 million in tax credits. There is no personal income tax in Florida so all the generated scholarship money is from private business. Christian Heritage Academy (Del City) Newest OSF Member

Christian Heritage Academy (Josh Bullard) joined the OSF this week. Founded in 1972, Christian Heritage Academy is a private, non-denominational Christian school and is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and recognized by the state of Oklahoma. Happy Hands Education Center Joins OSF

Happy Hands Education Center (Jan Pride and Darla Otto) of Broken Arrow joined the Fund this week. This Center is both nationally unique - and nationally recognized - for its expertise and dedication to educating hearing impaired children ages 0-6. It is the only school of its kind in Oklahoma and surrounding states. Happy Hands is a center for families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing and children who have other communication disorders. Their purpose is to empower these…

Wesleyan Christian School and Tulsa Hope Academy First to Join OSF

The first two schools to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fund were Wesleyan Christian School of Bartlesville (Jan Boomer, July 18) and the Tulsa Hope Academy (Debra McCullough, July 24). Both schools have immediate plans to expand their scholarship programs via the Opportunity Scholarship Fund.
