Donations to the Opportunity Scholarship Fund topped a half million dollars yesterday. A donation of $4,000 by Mr. and Mrs. Randall Roberts of Bixby put the Fund over $500,000. Their generous gift was designated for The Little Lighthouse of Tulsa.
The Fund has been receiving donations for less than a year. The first donation was made by Patti and Pete Rhea of Lawton in September 2014. Since that time 223 donors have contributed $503,000 for an average of $2,265 per donation.
OSF member schools have processed 65 mid-year scholarships valued at $176,000. This is an average of $2,700 per scholarship. Most schools are delaying offering scholarships until enrollment this Fall.
